“I write to recommend Bob and Barbara Zielinski as marriage enrichment facilitators.
I'm a West Point graduate (class of 1958), a Vietnam veteran, served 14 years of
active duty and 17 years in the Army Reserve. Mv wife and I have been married for
53 years and have benefitted hugely from our marriage enrichment experiences. We
know the stresses of military life and know that Bob and Barbara will help our
soldiers deal with those stresses in a constructive way so that their marriages will
have the means to flourish.
My wife, Sue, and I worked with Bob and Barbara when we led New Jersey National
Marriage Encounter in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. They were not only
our most effective team (a marriage encounter "team" is a husband and wife), but
also coordinated all the New Jersey teams. We presented between 15 and 20
retreats a year in New Jersey in those days.
As a team, they worked on retreats making presentations and coordinating with
other team members. Their sharing was an inspiring example to other team
members (we usually fielded two or three couples to lead each retreat). As team
coordinators they planned and implemented training sessions for our other teams,
and also assisted in coordinating regional conferences [New York, New Jersey, New
England), and one national conference for us. They went on to write the team
training guide for National Marriage Encounter used throughout the United States
and assisted in training teams around the country. In addition, in 1980 they
supported USAEUR chaplains doing marriage enrichment retreats for service
couples on bases in Germany.
They are both committed to marriage enrichment and bring a wealth of experience
and understanding to his endeavor. I highly recommend them to you.
